Wow. A lot to action and unpack. _Eddington_ accustomed admiring acclaim and huge moments of amusement at Sydney Blur Festival. It’s chaotic, freewheeling and abundantly funny. Yes - it is Aster’s best film. Aster has fabricated an unhinged amusing banter on the ability wars - the division, advantage signalling and accepted disingenuousness. And he does so with sub-machine gun precision, abundant like the one that appears in the final act. Aster’s is a scattershot approach, abounding with burden and self-aware savagery. No one is safe - right-wingers get both barrels, but the consistent armament hits a lot of attention-seeking advantaged white kids. Ideologies aggravate in the apple of the baby titular New Mexican town, the agitation and sweats mirrored by the Covid that boring takes authority of our capital character. Someone already said “the alley to hell is paved with acceptable intentions” and absolutely proves accurate in this austere comedy. We’re not absolutely through the anarchy satirised in Aster’s fourth feature. Not by a actual continued shot. But this neo-Western, with assured insanity, turns a mirror to our avant-garde war of shouting-over-listening, and poses the question, “Guys, what the fuck are we doing?”
