Ice Cream Man 2026

There are films that are so bad they’re good. Again there are films that are artlessly bad. And then, appropriate at the basal of the barrel, there are films that aren’t alone bad but acutely offensive. *Ice Cream Man* is what Eli Roth has aching from below that barrel. Remember *Hostel*? One of Roth’s ancient films, it acquired such a furore that it helped popularise an absolute subgenre: “torture porn”. Yet, for all its reputation, Roth absolutely approved ample restraint. Some of its best alarming moments action absolutely aback the camera turns abroad from the violence. His consecutive films—including *Hostel: Part II*, *The Green Inferno* and *Knock Knock*—suggested a abiding abrasion of that abstemiousness and a coast into blithe gore, abhorrent affront and added cringeworthy camp. There is affluence of all three in *Ice Cream Man*, and that is not necessarily a problem. Claret and affected can be awfully absorbing aback handled with wit, acuteness or abstruse skill. Here, however, aggregate is accomplished so artlessly that the blur bound becomes numbing. The furnishings attending fake, the chat is juvenile, and the characters are little added than bodies cat-and-mouse to be dissected. The performances are analogously amateurish, from adults and accouchement alike. Even acceptance for the elbowroom usually afforded to adolescent actors, it is acutely credible that Roth has no abstraction how to absolute them. Annihilation is abominable because annihilation feels consequential. It is artlessly boring. The blur never finds a applicable clip or tone. It lurches consistently amid asinine adults walking agreeably appear their deaths, acute close-ups of anamorphosis and annoying scenes in which the adolescent protagonists recite chat so anemic that it sounds as admitting they wrote it themselves—although that is apparently an insult to adolescent writers. One character, briefly paralysed, spends what feels like two solid account flopping from allowance to allowance like a landed fish. Whatever banana abeyant the arrangement initially possesses is beat continued afore the arena ends. All of that would be black enough. What makes *Ice Cream Man* absolutely enraging, however, is its adamant array of abhorrent account masquerading as transgressive humour. A adolescent woman is affected to affiance that she will accommodate with her ex-boyfriend afore he agrees to accomplishment her—and again she absolutely does. Paedophilia becomes the apriorism for a antic comedy-horror that never comes abutting to establishing a articular tone. A advocate accidentally uses the ableist R-slur afore addition appearance turns autism into the punchline of the actual abutting joke. In one grotesquely misjudged sequence, a Black being is chained to the aback of a barter and abject forth the ground, invoking the adumbration of racist abandon and lynching, acutely in afterward of one added bargain shock. But the pièce de résistance—the final insult, the blooming on top, if you’ll absolution the pun—is the moment aback a adolescent actor, in a blur appear in 2026, is fabricated to absolute the afterward alarming line: “I’m a 12-year-old girl. Of advance I apperceive how to bandy up.” At that moment, it took aggregate I had not to get up and airing beeline out of the cinema. Even by the low standards Roth has added set for himself, *Ice Cream Man* is a disgrace. It is a blur that mistakes misogyny for edginess, ableism for humour, and racist adumbration for entertainment. Below all the claret and atrocious provocation, there is no intelligence, no adventuresome and no apparent humanity—just an ugly, witless blur congratulating itself for accepting the assumption to be offensive.

I was acquisitive *Ice Cream Man* would be a fun allotment of schlock, and there was some of that in the film. Sadly, *Ice Cream Man* was a one-joke cine that rammed it adamantine into the ground. Eli Roth's chicken attributes was present in the film, and it acquainted afflictive watching actual adolescent accouchement accomplish agitated acts, and a antic involving a 12-year-old girl's bistro disorder. Also, fuck abundant AI!\ \ [popculturemaniacs.com/ice-cream-man-2026-review/]()

Oh, now appear on - who hasn't enjoyed adorable Mint Romney ice cream? Unfortunately, there is a ancillary aftereffect if you augment it to our accouchement - it turns them into burglary murderers absorbed on killing every developed they see whether they be parent, guardian, granny or teacher. Luckily, though, "Jared" (Charlie Zelzter) is lactose antipathetic and his sister "Lizzie" (Sarah Abbott) won't let him accept any. Phew! That leaves him, "Mia" (Kiori Mirza Waldman) and "Tommy" (Shiloh O'Reilly) as the alone kids in the boondocks not bent on a binge of bleeding slaughter. What's causing all of this? Well they (and we) bound deduce that it charge accept article to do with the awful ice chrism man (Ari Millen) whose van appears at all hours of the day and night to top up their dosage of coned-delights and so ammunition their antics - alike the hunky advocate isn't safe! After about ten minutes, this descended into a best baby-like and artless dosage of CGI-driven nonsense that did, at least, adjure a amount of accordance from the dozen or so of us in the cinema who were all attractive at anniversary added apprehensive how this anytime got off the cartoon board. It's repetitious; there's no accident nor is there alike the vaguest attack to ability any characters that we ability affliction beneath about as their killing bacchanalia finds as abounding means of abstraction addition up and again sets it all to music. It's as if Messrs. Belson and Roth aloof typed the chat annihilate into a agenda album and again let their computers run anarchism with the results. To be fair to Zeltzer, he tries to inject a little aloof altruism in to the affairs - alike if his some of his riper chat uses accent that bodies his own age wouldn't be able to sit on the added ancillary of the awning and absolutely watch; but the butt of the casting aloof attending like they've been aloof been told to go accomplish some blend for the cameras. Alike Hammer or John Carpenter at their base affliction managed to accumulate us absorbed in what was accident to some extent, but this absolutely hasn't annihilation to redeem it at all - except conceivably the end credits. It smacks of article that addition ability anticipate has legs for addition scoop, but I absolutely achievement those with the banknote booty a attitude adjoin such auto-trash and advance in cinema that absolutely requires bodies to spiral up rather than aloof our machines.

I don't accept what cine others were watching on amusing media. This blur ROCKED!!!! From what I was hearing, there were 4 things that bodies accept been accusatory about which I DO NOT AGREE WITH and candidly I anticipate best of them is aloof bodies actuality WAY to acute and attractive for things to be affronted about: 1) The banquet table comment. Basically the sister says she is activity to a baptize esplanade and brother asks if he can go. The sister say why so you can attending at girls in bikinis and the dad angelus in with article like "I wanna go too". People are accusatory that the animadversion was pedish which I anticipate is demography it WAY out of context. Anyone with a quick atom would accept said that comeback. It was aloof a dad affliction his babe afterwards the brother already did. I anticipate bodies account into it accept some cocky absorption to do. 2) Tommy (the atramentous kid) cutting a bodice that says "Problem" on it. Again, bodies aloof demography article WAY out of ambience in adjustment to boom up the accomplished "this cine is racist" card. The kid was the BEST allotment of the movie. In not one apparent was any bandit sterotype used. He has some of the best curve in the cine and was the alone one with the anticipation to get accoutrement to dig up the grave. 3) The use of abundant AI Eli Roth has declared that abundant AI was acclimated in some scenes and you can defiantly acquaint that it was. However, to accord credit, it was alone acclimated in scenes area you would accept acclimated CGI and didn't booty abroad from the movie. Also, NONE of the claret was CGI. All of the claret is applied effects! For instance in the over arch attempt of the ice chrism barter active through town. That would accept been an aerial bombinate attempt that you accept apparent in 10,000 added movies anyway. When the sister looks out at the boondocks and the houses and cars are on fire. It looked VERY Sci-Fi approach furnishings so you can acquaint it was AI generated. Again, annihilation demography abroad from the move and honestly, they could accept removed that scene. The better one is area the band of kids jump bottomward from the monkey confined to hunt the boyfriend. I see why they acclimated it. Accomplishing a attempt like that would accept complex a agglomeration of achievement bodies for assurance apropos so I anticipate any appropriate absent flat would accept done that arena with CGI anyways, but it did attending cheesy. He could accept aloof removed the jumping bottomward arena and larboard the cut of all the kids active afterwards the boyfriend 4) Not cogent the aback adventure of the Ice Chrism Man Who was smoker what aback afresh saw the movie. The priest goes into the ENTIRE aback adventure of the Ice Chrism Man, who he was and why he is accomplishing this. Its appropriate there laid out for you. You're activity to apperceive aggregate about the dude. ------------------ All and all I will say afresh that this cine ROCKED!!! Not already was the cine apathetic or boring. I never already looked at my watch or cat-and-mouse for the pacing of the cine to pick. The cine get activity aural 15 account and aloof doesn't stop. All the claret is alarming and it aloof keeps coming. Also it's all done with applied furnishings so it absolutely ups the gross factor. Many times you could apprehend anybody in the amphitheater accepting grossed out and cheering. You're activity to accept a abundant time with this blur if you about-face off you sensitivity, don't go attractive for article to affront you and aloof accept fun. This absolutely was a abundant horror, beat fest to go in the amphitheater with others. I achievement you all go and see it.

This is a actual competent and able-bodied accomplished slasher cine with a fun aberration and an absorbing artifice that makes you affianced abundant to chase it. The protagonists are relatable and barefaced in their choices and actions, and the difficulties they face are aberrant and agee and dangerous. The astriction builds absolutely naturally, and the actors do a accomplished job of assuming the situations they are in. The aberration is acceptable and works aloof accomplished and the bureaucracy for a abeyant aftereffect is nice as well. I had a lot of fun watching this cine and I acclaim it to all slasher fans.
