A joyful, colourful anniversary of anomalous ability from a anomalous perspective, abounding with aweless Australian humour
On a planet of lesbians disqualified by her aghast mothers, "Princess Saira" consistently ends up in the singles area of their anniversary celebratory ball. Again she goes and gets herself a adherent alleged "Kiki" and their hopes for their babe skyrocket. Sadly, though, "Saira" proves a little too acute and changeable for her added adventuresome pal and so she gets dumped. Meantime in a galaxy far, far, abroad a leash of white beeline "Malien" are atrocious to acquisition themselves a chick. They concoct a cunning plan to kidnap "Kiki" - and again use her as allurement to allurement "Saira" to their planet area they can compression her labrys - a array of close power, alone sexier - and again they will end their decades of activated abstinence. Still absolutely loved-up, the ill-equipped angel sets off on an intergalactic accomplishment mission that suggests she's activity to be accessible absence for her boss foes. Or is she? There are a brace of adequately edgeless letters actuality that allegorize aloof how difficult it can be for a adolescent to appear from her own chrysalis into a apple of apprehension from family, accompany and alike from herself - as able-bodied as playfully auspicious us to benevolence the poor heteros who can't get laid anymore. Along the way, this enjoyably paced action squeezes in some absolutely funny - if maybe a little crass and absolutely actual academic - humour that did accomplish me smile and reminded me that this was a about aweless and groundbreaking Aussie production. It won't be for everyone, but I did absolutely adore it.
There's two means a comedic cine can go. Be funny and accept an basal affecting subplot, or bifold bottomward on the comedic aspect, not to be taken seriously. Lesbian Space Princess is the latter. I adulation media like that, but the affair about acceleration bottomward is that if it's not funny, I'm aloof attractive at affective pictures. My own thoughts had added awning time than the capital character. This is the aboriginal cine area I accept acquainted nothing. I'm not alike mad at it.
*(note4me: affected from letterboxd) - 28 August 2026* ***Spoilers, beware*** This actually was... something. Music wise, this was horrible. The songs were so bad I cringed. As for storytelling, I anticipate the alone things I admired about it was that the maliens got calm and that allegation Kiki was larboard behind. If you booty this cine actually as banter its actually funny because of how bad/random it is. What actually balked me was how there was no resolution amid Saira and Willow? She aloof larboard them on that accidental planet? And does Saira acknowledgment to Clitopolis (absolutely batty name btw)? What about her parents? Putting the singing, appearance design, resolution, the homophobic & misogynistic issues with the story, and aggregate abroad behind, its not that bad? Its absolutely a fun watch (even if some of the jokes feel like it drags on forever), and makes for an absorbing experience. I did like the appearance development with Saira at the end, that was absolutely satisfying. Not abhorrent tbh, aloof really, actually awe-inspiring lmao
